Having worked in the trucking and transportation industry for 33 years, and trained approximately 20,000 dealership associates, Terry Ellifritz is proud to share this innovative on-line training curricula. Included in his 33 years is a wealth of best customer care practices.
Ellifritz began his career with truck dealerships in 1991 when he met Paul Spokas, marketing director for Volvo White GMC Trucks in Columbus, Ohio.
Three years later, Paul Spokas was promoted to Used Truck Manager for Volvo and Terry followed his mentor to Greensboro North Carolina. Within months, his company had hired 12 advertising specialists and graphic design professionals to facilitate more than 200 projects a year for Volvo Trucks.
He grew his company by securing his first Detroit Diesel distributorship, Covington Detroit Diesel- Allison in 1993. Performing some minor marketing projects opened the doors at Corporate Detroit Diesel in Dearborn Michigan, where he learned the diesel engine and Allison transmission business.
From there he diversified into the Cummins Engine Company and eventually trained more 10,000 associates in the Cummins network in the United States and Canada, while maintaining strong relationships with the Detroit Diesel network.
Adding Daimler Trucks of North America was another major milestone, and by 2015, he had trained associates at 75 dealership families and nearly 8,000 associates.
During this stretch he also trained associates at various Kenworth, International, Mack and Peterbilt dealerships.
His business philosophy was that he would maintain a two year “dark or quiet period” in any single Area of Responsibility for a specific dealership to avoid any conflict of interest with another OEM dealer in that geographical area.
Over his 33 years of experience in the trucking and engine industries, Ellifritz trained more than 20,000 associates at nearly 500 dealership and distributor locations in how to better serve and treat the customer.
Today, he now offers electronic curricula through his training process My Profit People.
