The chicken or the egg or both. What importance and priority are you assigning to your tasks and obligations?
At the risk of becoming overwhelmed, the assignment and prioritization tasks begin with a list of all tasks and obligations. These can be plotted by the day, week or month.
Associates will learn that the assignment of importance and the prioritization of tasks is more easily executed on a weekly basis.
Projecting oneself into what is called the “Now Moment” and enacting the task in one’s imagination will provide a semblance of how long each task may take. Thinking backwards from the result of the task, will further define how much time should be allotted to the task.
Assigning importance of a task is the second most important action step. If all tasks have an assigned amount of time to be completed, the tasks should also have a priority or value of importance.
A simple numbering system can be used for this prioritization purpose. A “1” must be executed.
A “2” can be executed at assigned or adjusted scheduled timing.
A “3” can be rescheduled to a following day, week or month but still must be completed.
A “4” is not critical to the professional or personal tasks assigned to an associate, but would be advantageous” if completed.
